the role

description

  • Plan & cook lunch and dinner daily for retreat groups (5–20 guests)

  • Prepare breakfast items for the team to set out each morning

  • Source ingredients from our trusted local vendors in Mazunte & Puerto Escondido

  • Track dietary restrictions & allergies per group

  • Coordinate with kitchen support staff on prep, service & cleanup

  • Manage catering budget and vendor payments per retreat

Schedule

  • Not fixed Mon–Fri — you’ll cook based on our retreat calendar (Oct-may)

  • Roughly 50% of days booked in season

  • Some weeks are full-on, others open

Requirements

  • Group/retreat or restaurant kitchen experience

  • Comfortable with grilling & roasting meats and fish

  • Comfortable with vegan, gluten-free & special diet cooking

  • Already living in Mazunte area, or committed to relocating by sep 1

  • Organized, reliable, and comfortable with a variable schedule
